Elon Musk Makes Rs 2.71 Lakh Crore In Single Day

New Delhi: Telsa Chief Elon Musk has created history as his wealth increased by $36.2 billion recently in a single day.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of electric car maker Tesla and Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) and the world's richest man Elon Musk wealth increased by $36.2 billion, or Rs 2.71 lakh crore on Monday.

This is the first time that someone's wealth has increased so much in a single day. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk is now the owner of $289 billion.

On the same day, the market capitalization (market cap) of Elon Musk's company Tesla surpassed one trillion dollars. With this Tesla became the sixth US company to achieve this feat.

After Hertz Global Holdings ordered one lakh cars to the Tesla company, Tesla's shares rose 14.9 percent and hit a new one-year high of $1,045.02, following which Elon Musk's wealth increased. Reportedly, the Musk has a 23 percent stake in Tesla.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault are currently the second and third richest people in the world. Their assets are $193 billion and $163 billion respectively.

Recently, Investment banking company Morgan Stanely had predicted that Musk could become the world's first 'trillionaire' in the coming times.

The price of Tesla share in Indian rupees is nearly Rs 51,000, at an exchange rate of Rs 73 to a dollar.

The Tesla share price today is around $1,018.43.
